As they say in their bio at Black Note, smoking used to be cool. Characters on TV and in movies smoked. Celebrities were caught on camera smoking.

Cigarette companies highlighted how sexy and sophisticated one could be with a cigarette in his or her mouth but didn’t mention the down sides like how bad smokers smell, how aging is accelerated by smoking, and life expectancy is cut short by heart disease and cancer.

Smoking isn’t cool anymore, but e juice is. Right now a coffee cup is the prop of choice, but soon you will see more vaping devices in the hands of actors on and off the screen.

Smoking Alternatives

Now it’s cool to quit because everyone knows how bad cigarettes are for you. Tobacco firms can still sell their sticks of death but they have to advertise the many risks and they can’t approach the topic softly. Along with nicotine replacement therapy like the patch, electronic cigarettes have become a means of delivering nicotine, while using e cigs is often regarded as a way to gradually stop using nicotine completely.

Along with e cigs, assorted e juice companies like Black Note are celebrated for their quality. Black Note offers what they hope is a quality product which makes you think of tobacco tastes you loved, only without that toxic edge you remember.

Bucking Trends

Black Note’s creators became concerned about the direction e juice was taking, with sweet flavors emerging and tobacco taking a backseat. They were worried about the chemicals found in these products too such as food-grade but potentially dangerous additives like acetyl propionyl and diacetyl. They see no purpose in promoting e juice then deliberately contaminating it.

A lab report is available for each product to prove this to the consumer plus a synopsis of every product’s propylene glycol/vegetable glycerin ratio. Black Note products contain 0, 0.3, 0.6, 1.2, or 1.8% nicotine and are flavored with Naturally Extracted Tobacco (NET); in other words, nothing artificial.

No Youth

Attracting young people to vaping was something they didn’t want to do at Black Note, but that’s what was happening. Cartoon characters and sweet liquids were and still are attracting a young audience to vaping, which is something trade organizations promise to put an end to and the FDA is sure to prevent with their recent legislation. It seemed time to re-introduce vapers to tobacco flavors through the gourmet menu at Black Note. Here’s what they came up with.

Real Flavor

Do other styles of tobacco e juice miss their mark, hit a discordant note perhaps? At Black Note they hope to address that problem with their varieties of e juice not designed for children or the child-at-heart. These ten flavors are all priced $29 with one exception, Quartet ($39), and sold in 30-ml glass bottles. A second layer of wrapping keeps out sunlight and every bottle is carefully labelled with the important details available.

Ten Types

The full list is Quartet, Encore, Cadenza, Bravura, Prelude, Forte, Sonata, Legato, Solo, and Adagio. Only one of these — Solo — is a mentholated style, but all the others are straight tobacco from around the world. They emulate familiar cigarette, cigar, and pipe tobaccos, thanks to that natural extraction method. Quartet and Encore are both Middle Eastern, but Quartet is smoky and Encore is lightly sweet.

Prelude is an Italian tobacco known as Virginia and Forte is also Italian: Burley this time. You will undoubtedly taste the sun-soaked flavors of Greece with mild, spicy Cadenza but a richer Perique style from Bravura. Sonata tastes like Cavendish for the pipe while Adagio is a Havana-type blend, smoky and spicy. Kentucky’s rich, nutty tobacco is named Legato.

Musical Side Note

A musical theme is obvious throughout this naming process and also in charitable giving amounting to 1% of each purchase you make. The company focuses on music programs and providing potable water to under-privileged people globally.
